For our students from Christchurch

And just like that… our group of students from Christchurch has headed back to New Zealand, flying from Tahiti via Auckland before returning to their "home sweet home."

In just six days, they experienced a particularly packed program, starting from the moment they arrived at 2:25 AM at Tahiti-Faa'a International Airport!

An immersion from the very first hours

After a short night and settling into their hotel, the students quickly dove into the Polynesian atmosphere with a guided tour of Papeete. On the agenda: the market for souvenirs, stalls filled with fruits, vegetables, fish, and coconuts… not to mention a shopping stop for famous surf brands, which were very popular with these young athletes.

The afternoon marked the beginning of their learning with their first French as a Foreign Language (FLE) class, followed by meeting their host families—an essential step in their cultural immersion.

A true family immersion

The weekend was dedicated to discovering daily Polynesian life through our host families. Between outings, activities, shared moments, and discovering local traditions, the students were able to experience Tahiti from the inside, far beyond the usual tourist circuits.

This immersion is always one of the highlights of our trips, allowing for the creation of authentic bonds and the chance to practice French in a natural context.

Between learning and discovery

The following days alternated between French lessons and outdoor activities.

After another morning of classes, the group enjoyed an afternoon at Mahana Park, including swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and relaxing in the lagoon. It was a wonderful opportunity to discover the richness of the Tahitian coastline in an exceptional setting.

Moorea to close the trip

On July 14th, French National Day, our students boarded the Aremiti for an unforgettable day in Moorea.

Exploring the lagoon, snorkeling, water sports, relaxing on a motu, and breathtaking landscapes offered a magnificent conclusion to this Polynesian adventure before a short night at the hotel and their departure for Christchurch.

Memories that will last a long time

Beyond the landscapes and activities, it is above all the human connections that leave a lasting mark on these young travelers.

We even received an adorable message from a New Zealand mom who told us how much her son had enjoyed his stay with his host family. She told us the experience was "amazing." Her son's host even left with a pearl necklace, specially crafted by his host family to give to his mother. A delicate gesture that perfectly illustrates the generosity and kindness of Polynesian families.

These testimonials are the greatest reward for our work and confirm that the bonds created during these few days go far beyond the simple scope of a language study trip.

Mauruuru et à bientôt !

The entire team at 'Ia Ora Na Pōrīnetia warmly thanks the students, the #teachers, our #partners, and especially our wonderful #hostfamilies who, once again, have shared their daily lives with generosity and authenticity.
