A Perfect Day Out from Papeete

Exploring, Savoring, and Unwinding...

Sunday, August 3rd promised a beautiful day—and it certainly delivered. Together with two professional friends, we set off from Papeete under clear skies and perfect weather. Our plan included two or three stops, with the first turning out to be a delightful discovery.

We began by savoring a refreshing hibiscus drink, followed by an ice-cold Clitonade, enjoyed peacefully by the calm lagoon of heavenly place called Ô Tumu mape. The moment felt almost meditative—a rare chance to pause and soak in the tranquility.

Next, we headed to #Teahupoo and what a surprise it was when we arrived to find the parking lot almost full and filled with ta'ata (people) all dressed in yellow… it was the gathering of Teahupo'o’s neighborhoods for a va'a (traditional outrigger canoe) competition—bursting with a festive spirit, complete with singing, parades, races, and more… pure joy!

Then we met with Maima for an unforgettable excursion on the legendary wave Hava'e. We could observe the powerful #surf, took a swim over the the #oceantrench, and then made our way back through the pass, where playful dolphins greeted us with acrobatic displays—truly a magical encounter!

Lunch was at a local snack bar, where portions were so generous we had to ask for take-away—what a bonus for dinner later!

In the afternoon, we traveled to a hotel on the west coast known for its breathtaking sunsets. With music in the background and cool drinks in hand, we relaxed and discussed new products to introduce on our upcoming trip.

Before we knew it, it was 7 PM. The time had flown by, and my two friends were thrilled with the day’s experiences.

A day well spent—full of discovery, relaxation, and great company!
